Pfeiffer Men's Basketball Grounds Greensboro, 92-82
Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 18, 2023) – The Pfeiffer University men's basketball team got off to a blistering start and came back late to down rival Greensboro College 92-82 in the USA South regular season finale at a lively Merner Gym on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
After jumping out to a 25-7 lead in the first half, Pfeiffer allowed Greensboro back into the game and surrendered the lead in the second half.
Greensboro would take the 63-58 lead at the 12:40 mark of the second half after a jump shot from Ty Hill. Pfeiffer would come back to tie it at 63-63 following a pair of free throws from
Donte Forrester-Jhagroo with 12:02 left.
The Pride would then jump ahead again, this time at 9:24 when Erik Alvey made it 69-65.
Pfeiffer would again fight back to take the 70-69 lead from a
Clayton Robinson (Charlotte, N.C.) three-pointer at 8:05.
The two teams would remain close down the stretch until a late Pfeiffer run.
Tied at 76-76 with 4:30 to go, Pfeiffer put together a 12-0 run over the next 3:15 to put the game out of reach while taking the 92-82 win and ending the season for The Pride.
Individual Leaders
- Clayton Robinson (Charlotte, N.C.) scored a career-high 20 points on a 3-of-6 shooting effort that included a 2-of-2 clip from long range. More impressively, Robinson was a perfect 12-of-12 from the free throw line.
- M.J. Armstrong (Gastonia, N.C.) had 18 points and five rebounds while Daniel Fulp (Winston-Salem, N.C.) had 16 points.
- Rashamel Butler (Ridgeland, S.C.) had 13 rebounds to go along with 10 points in securing the double-double.

By virtue of the win, Pfeiffer has claimed the No. 4 seed in the upcoming USA South Tournament and will host No. 5 seed Brevard College on Tuesday, Feb. 21. A game time will be announced on Monday.
