Pfeiffer Falls in Series Finale at Brevard, 7-5
Brevard, N.C. (March 27, 2023) – The Pfeiffer University baseball team jumped on Brevard College early but fell to the Tornados 7-5 in game three of the USA South series on Sunday afternoon.
The Basics – Game 1
Pfeiffer wasted no time in jumping out to the 3-0 lead in the first inning. Â
Christian Ezzell got things going with an RBI single to go up 1-0. Josh Tuner then delivered and RBI single while another Falcon run crossed on a Brevard throwing error.
Brevard would respond with two runs in their half of the first inning and then would tie the game at 3-3 in the second on an RBI single.
Another single run crossed for the Tornados in the third inning to give Brevard the 4-3 lead. A triple and a pair of doubles in the eighth inning would then push the Brevard lead to 7-3
Ezzell doubled in the ninth to srive in another run for Pfeiffer to close the gap to 7-4, while another RBI single from Turner made it 7-5.
Another error for the Tornados put runners on first and second, but a strike out and pop up ended the ninth inning threat, allowing Brevard to take the 7-5 win.
