No. 19 Pfeiffer Softball Drops Pair at Rival Greensboro
Greensboro, N.C. (April 23, 2023) – The 19th-ranked Pfeiffer University softball team dropped a pair of USA South games at rival Greensboro College on Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened – Game 1
A
Gracie Griffin sacrifice fly scored Kendyll Warren from third base to put Pfeiffer up 1-0. Warren reached base with her first triple of the season earlier in the inning.
Greensboro plated three runs in their half of the first and added another run in the third inning off a Pfeiffer fielding error.
The GC lead would grow to 7-1 after a two-RBI double in the fourth followed by an RBI single.
Pfeiffer's
Emma Chopko doubled in the fifth inning, driving in two to pull to 7-3.
The Falcons were able to put two runners on in the sixth and two more in the seventh, but were stranded in both innings, with Greensboro taking the 7-3 win.
Game 2
Greensboro's Kelsey Craven hit a walk-off solo home run to center field in the bottom of the seventh to lift Greensboro to the doubleheader sweep.
Pfeiffer threatened with runners on first and third in the top of the fifth with one out, but Greensboro forced a pop up to shortstop and a fly out to center field to end the Pfeiffer threat.
The sweep at the hands of Greensboro is the first for Pfeiffer in USA South play since the Falcons started league play in 2018.
