How it Happened
William Peace jumped on top of the Falcons 1-0 in the first inning after leading off with a single through the right side of the Falcon infield. Another single gave WPU runners on first and second base and the third single of the inning from Megan
McAnany allowed WPU to take the 1-0 lead.
The score would remain 1-0 in the favor of the Pacers, as Pfeiffer stranded five runners until the seventh inning.
Following a fly out, a pinch hit single from sophomore Gretchen
Wolpert started the Pfeiffer threat. After
Wolpert's hit,
Lyall lifted her ninth homer of the season to center field to put the Falcons up 2-1.
Pfeiffer pitcher
Kali Morton forced a pair of Pacer fly outs and ended the game with a strikeout, putting Pfeiffer in the bracket one championship game on Saturday.
William Peace dropped into the second elimination game of the day, taking on their rival Meredith and earning the 5-2 win to advance to Saturday's bracket championship.
First pitch is scheduled for Noon at Jack Ingram Field with the "if necessary" game to follow at 3:00 p.m.
