Five In Double Digits in Pfeiffer's 74-65 Win Over William Peace

MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Feb. 17, 2024 -- Five Falcons put up double-digit points as the Pfeiffer women's basketball team took down the William Peace Pacers 74-65 at home Saturday.

How It Happened

After jumping out to a 7-4 advantage, Pfeiffer went on a 5-0 run with 6:50 left in the first quarter, culminating in a bucket from Alexis Bynum, to increase its lead to 12-4. The Falcons then lost some of that lead, but still entered the quarter break with an 18-16 advantage. Pfeiffer got a great contribution from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for six of its 18 total points.

Pfeiffer kept its first quarter lead intact before going on a 5-0 run starting at the 9:40 mark in the second period, highlighted by a bucket from Cabiness-Ali, to increase its lead to 23-16. The Pacers cut into that lead, but the Falcons still enjoyed a 36-34 advantage heading into halftime. Pfeiffer dominated in the paint, scoring 10 of its 18 points close to the basket.

Pfeiffer continued to preserve its halftime lead before going on a 6-0 run to expand its lead further to 44-36 with 6:41 to go in the third. Before the conclusion of the third period, the Pacers had cut into that lead somewhat, but the Falcons still entered the fourth quarter with a 53-49 edge. Pfeiffer took advantage of seven William Peace turnovers in the quarter, scoring seven points off of takeaways.

Pfeiffer kept its lead intact before going on a 13-0 run, finished off by Bynum's three, to grow the lead to 66-51 with 5:51 to go in the contest. The Pacers narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Falcons still cruised the rest of the way for the 74-65 win.
