RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 6, 2024) --.The Pfeiffer University men's basketball team dropped a 77-61 USA South decision to the William Peace Pacers on the road Tuesday at the Hermann Athletic Center in Raleigh, N.C.
The Falcons (8-10, 5-5) had two players score in double figures, led by junior Daymon Beckwith, who had 12 points and five assists. Sophomore Ty Black tacked on 11 points and junior Daniel Fulp added eight points and seven rebounds.
Pfeiffer out-rebounded William Peace 34-30 in Tuesday's game, led by seven boards from Alex Cunningham. The Falcons also pulled down 10 offensive rebounds and scored 20 second chance points.
How It Happened
After falling behind 23-13, Pfeiffer went on an 8-0 run with 3:03 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Beckwith, to narrow its deficit to 23-21. The Falcons deficit remained the same as they entered halftime trailing 28-26.
William Peace kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 55-41 advantage before Pfeiffer went on an 8-0 run, finished off by Clayton Robinson's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 55-49 with 9:45 to go in the contest. William Peace responded and outscored the Falcons the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 77-61. Pfeiffer shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting five shots from deep to score 15 of its 35 points.
