MISENHEIMER, N.C. (March 13, 2024) -- The 15-th ranked Lynchbur gHornests use d abig second inning in a 23-1 seven-inning win over Pfeiffer University on Wednesday afternoon at Joe Ferebee Field
Pfeiffer sophomore Badin Gusa was one of the few bright spots forthe Falcons as he was 1-for-1 from the plate and also drew a walk.
Freshman pitcher Dylan Dula (0-1) started and absorbed the loss on the mound for Pfeiffer (6-5). Senior Jordan Byrd was a bright spot out of the bullpen, tossing one shutout inning without allowing a hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After going up 1-0 in the first inning, the visiting Hornets exploded for 15 runs in the second inning and never looked back. All told, Lynchburg sent 19 batters to the plate in the inning.
GAME NOTES
» Pfeiffer's pushed a run across in the seventh on a Hornet throwing error.
» Pfeiffer pitchers faced 48 Lynchburg hitters in the game, allowing seven ground balls and 10 fly balls while striking out two.
» The Falcons drew five walks from Lynchburg pitching.
