BREVARD, N.C. (May 4, 2024) -- The Pfeiffer University baseball team dropped a 5-3 decision at host Brevard College on Saturday morning and were eliminated from the USA South Baseball Tournament.
Pfeiffer finishes the season with a 21-21 overall record

Badin Gusa (0-1) got the ball to start for Pfeiffer and took the loss. Sam Odum was a bright spot for the Falcons, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 5.2 innings, giving up one run on six hits, with four walks and five strikeouts.
In addition to his three hits, Lohrer had two RBI to lead the Falcons. Zach Ferrell put together a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-5 with two doubles. Carter Merrill also helped out for Pfeiffer, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 4-0, the Falcons first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Pfeiffer got an RBI single from Lohrer, scoring Ferrell from second base.
The Tornados expanded their lead to 5-1 before the Falcons offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the seventh. R. Brown came across to score the lone run of the inning for Pfeiffer, which brought the score to 5-2 in favor of the Tornados.
Pfeiffer held the Tornados off the scoreboard before narrowing the gap to 5-3 in the eighth. The Falcons were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
