Barrett Has 5 RBI in Pfeiffer's Home Opener Against Guilford

MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Feb. 25, 2025) --Freshman Levi Barrett collected five RBIs, but the Pfeiffer Falcons fell to the Guilford Quakers 11-6 on Tuesday in the home opener at Joe Ferebee Field.

Sophomore Ivan Delp (0-2) took the loss on the mound for Pfeiffer (0-7). Senior Thad Lewis was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going two innings, surrendering one run on two hits, walking none and striking out two.

Barrett went 2-for-3 with two doubles in addition to his five RBIs for the Falcons while senior Wilson Lohrer put together a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 2-for-2 with an RBI. Junior Connor Welker also helped out for Pfeiffer, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a walk.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 4-0, the Falcons first put runs on the board in the third inning. Pfeiffer scored twice on a two-run double off the bat of Barrett.

The Quakers expanded their lead to 5-2 before the Falcons offense got back to work, tying it up in the fifth. Pfeiffer scored three runs in the frame, buoyed by a two-RBI double from Barrett, which evened the score at 5-5.

Guilford broke that tie and grabbed a 7-5 lead heading into the seventh, when Pfeiffer closed the gap to 7-6. The Falcons were unable to get any closer, as Guilford added four runs to their tally on the way to an 11-6 final.

» Pfeiffer's power output was led by Barrett, who picked up two extra base hits in the ballgame.
