MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Feb.8, 2025) --The Pfeiffer men's basketball team kept Southern Virginia to just 18.2 percent from long range in a 2-for-11 shooting performance as they rolled to a 100-72 victory against the Knights at home Saturday in front of a raucous Merner Gym crowd on Alumni Day.

The Falcons (12-7, 8-2) had five players score in double figures, led by Daymon Beckwith, who had 15 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Jaylen Hamilton added 14 points off the bench and Alex Cunningham helped out with 13 points and four assists.  Beckwith inched closer to joining the 1,000 point club, as he currently stands at 994 for his career in the Black and Gold.

The Pfeiffer offense was impressive from three-point land, knocking down eight threes on 19 attempts. Donte Forrester-Jhagroo hit three treys for the Falcons in the contest.

Pfeiffer forced 20 SVU turnovers, turning those takeaways into 26 points.

How It Happened

After jumping out to a 25-17 advantage, Pfeiffer went on a 12-0 run with 9:29 left in the first half to increase its lead to 37-17. The Falcons then maintained that lead and entered halftime with a 53-33 advantage. Pfeiffer did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 28 of its 53 points close to the basket.

Pfeiffer kept its lead intact before going on a 9-0 run, finished off by Andrew Peacock's layup, to grow the lead to 72-43 with 12:07 to go in the contest. The Falcons cruised the rest of the way for the 100-72 win.

All told, Pfeiffer took care of business in the paint, recording 30 of its 47 points in the lane.
