Baseball Takes 11-4 Home Win Over Roanoke

Box Score Misenheimer, N.C. (March 11, 2025) - Brock Welch drove in four runs on one hit to lead the Pfeiffer baseball team past visiting Roanoke 11-4 on Tuesday afternoon at Joe Ferebee Field.

Brock Welch's damage game on a three-run home run to left field in the seventh inning.

Roanoke opened the scoring in the fourth after an error scored two runs.
 
Pfeiffer  jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after a Welch walk, then Thomas Ashby was hit by a pitch.  Freshman Levi Barrett drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, followed by an Austin Wood walk, with each scoring one run.
 
The Falcons then scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the seventh inning with Welch's blast, followed by a Joe Javier singlle that scored one run followed by a Roanoke error that allowed a run to cross.
 
CJ Acosta then hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the eighth.
 
Dylan Dula earned the win for Falcons. The right-hander surrendered three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out two and walking two. James Eason started on the hill for Falcons, allowing four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out one.

Roanoke's Finn Lamb started for the Maroons and allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking four. Levi Barrett and Thad Lewis each came on in relief for Falcons.
 
CJ Acosta and Joe Javier each collected two hits for Falcons. Falcons had patience at the plate, accumulating 12 walks for the game. CJ Acosta, Wilson Lohrer, Brock Welch, Thomas Ashby, and Hunter Huneycutt led the team with two bases on balls each. Wilson Lohrer and Thomas Ashby each stole multiple bases for Falcons. Falcons stole eight bases in the game.
 
Steens led Roanoke with three hits in four at bats. Giordano and Coogan each drove in one run for Roanoke. Galloway collected two hits for Roanoke in five at bats.

Pfeiffer will return to play this upcoming weekend, hosting N.C. Wesleyan for a three-game USA South series at Joe Ferebee Field.
