SALEM, Va. (April 23, 2025) --Hunter Huneycutt racked up five hits to help lead the Pfeiffer Falcons past the Roanoke Maroons 20-6 on Wednesday afternoon in Salem, Va.
Cayman Buck (2-0) got the win for Pfeiffer (12-23). The right-hander went 1.2 innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on one hit, allowing one walk and striking out two. Andrew Bruss also pitched well, going 1.2 shutout innings while allowing one hit, walking one and striking out three.
In addition to his five hits, Huneycutt had three doubles and two RBI to lead the Falcons. C.J. Acosta put together a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-1 with a double, three walks and three RBI. Josh Jones also helped out for Pfeiffer, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding a walk and four RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons scored in six different innings on the way to the win. Pfeiffer broke a 0-0 tie and took the lead for good at 1-0 in the first inning The big hit for the Falcons in the inning was a two-run single off the bat of Jones.
