No. 21 Pfeiffer Softball Gets Two Wins at William Peace

GAME 1 | Pfeiffer 7, William Peace 1

Raleigh, N.C. (April 23, 2025) --Senior Emma Bullin racked up four hits to help lead the No. 21 Pfeiffer Falcons over the William Peace Pacers 7-1 on Wednesday in game one of a USA South doubleheader

Bullin (18-4) also started in the circle and picked up the win for Pfeiffer (24-7, 13-0). The right-hander went four innings, giving up one run on four hits, allowing no walks and striking out two. Freshman Peyton Lane also made an impact in the circle for the Falcons, throwing a pair of shutout innings while allowing two hits.

In addition to her four hits, Bullin had three RBI to lead the Falcons. Gracie Griffin furnished a standout game at the dish as well, going 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Falcons were trailing 1-0 in the third inning when they took the lead on a two-RBI single from Bullin.

Leading 5-1 the Falcons then were able to hold WPU scoreless the rest of the way, eventually taking the 7-1 win.

In game two, Pfeiffer broke through after a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning to take the 6-3 win.

Emma Bullin (20-4) started in the circle and picked up the win for Pfeiffer, who improved to 26-7 overall and 14-0 in league play. The right-hander tossed a complete game, giving up three runs on four hits, allowing three walks and striking out five.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Falcons were trailing 1-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Pfeiffer got an RBI single from C. Cooper, scoring A. Broaddus from third base.

The Pacers then scored two runs to retake their advantage heading into the fourth inning, when the Falcons responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. D. Kelly came across to score the lone run of the inning for Pfeiffer, which tightened the Pacers lead to 3-2.

Pfeiffer kept the Pacers off the board before rallying to tie it up at three in the fifth.

The game stayed tied until the very next inning, when Pfeiffer got rolling again on offense. Cooper crossed home plate with the lone run of the inning for the Falcons, bringing the score to 4-3 in favor of Pfeiffer.

The Falcons kept William Peace without a run before expanding their lead to 6-3 the following inning. Pfeiffer picked up two runs, including one on a solo homer off the bat of G. Griffin. The score remained 6-3 for the rest of the game, as the Falcons held on for the win.
