MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- (May 8, 2025) The Pfeiffer University softball team captured their third-straight USA South Tournament Title with a pair of 4-0 wins over second-seeded N.C. Wesleyan on Thursday afternoon at Jack Ingram Field
In game one, senior Emma Bullin was dealing, as she threw a four-hit shutout to lead the No. 20 Pfeiffer Falcons to the win.
Bullin (28-4) went the distance for Pfeiffer (34-7), scattering four hits, walking two and striking out four NCWU batters
Offensively, Bullin helped her own cause, going 2-for-3 from the plate with a double. Junior Charly Cooper put together a standout performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Senior Gracie Griffin also contributed for Pfeiffer, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons took the lead for good in the first, when Landry Stewart came across to score the lone run of the inning for Pfeiffer.
The Falcons then tacked on runs in the second, fifth, and sixth innings.

In game two, Bullin again dominated, as she went the distance for Pfeiffer (35-7), giving up seven hits, walking two and striking out eight.
In the batter's box, the Falcons were led by Landry Stewart, who went 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI. Senior Gracie Griffin put together a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Sophomore Emily Dickerson also contributed for Pfeiffer, putting together two hits in two trips to the plate while adding a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons took the lead for good in the second, when senior Emma Chopko came across to score the lone run of the inning for Pfeiffer.
The Falcons then tacked on runs in the fifth and sixth innings, with their biggest output coming in the sixth when they scored twwice. That two-run inning was punctuated by Stewart's run-scoring single.

With the pair of wins, Bullin sets the Pfeiffer program record with 29 pitching wins in a single season. She passed former Falcon pitcher Kiana Milsaps, who recorded 27 wins in the 2019 season.
In addition, Bullin was named USA South Tournament MVP, as she went 5-0 in tournament play.

With the USA South title, Pfeiffer has earned the automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Division III Tournament. The Falcons will learn their opponent on Monday, May 12 when the brackets are released during the NCAA Selection Show which will air at 11:00 a.m. at NCAA.com
