WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Feb. 14, 2026) — Pfeiffer used a dominant fourth quarter and double-figure scoring from three starters to pull away from Salem College for a 68–44 USA South road win Saturday at Varsity Gym.
Pfeiffer (13-9, 10-5 USA South) outscored Salem 27–13 in the final period, turning a modest halftime lead into a decisive victory. The Falcons shot 11-for-15 in the fourth quarter, including three 3-pointers, while forcing seven turnovers in the frame.
Peyton McPeters powered Pfeiffer with a double-double, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while
Ava Hairston and
Lettie Michael each added 14 points. Hairston knocked down two threes, while Michael hit four from beyond the arc and logged 39 minutes.
The Falcons' defense was a difference-maker, generating 14 steals and converting turnovers into 12 fast-break points. Pfeiffer also dominated the paint with 40 points inside and held a 36–29 rebounding advantage.
Pfeiffer led 25–21 at halftime after holding Salem to eight points in the second quarter. Salem briefly trimmed the deficit early in the third, but Hairston, McPeters and Michael sparked a 16-point period that extended the Falcons' lead to 41–31 entering the fourth.
In the final 10 minutes, Pfeiffer's offense surged. Hairston hit back-to-back threes, Michael added another from deep, and the Falcons scored eight fast-break points to put the game out of reach.
Salem (4–16, 1–15 USA South) was led by Amy Velediaz-Pedroza, who scored 14 points, and Cristina Battistini, who added 8. Salem committed 20 turnovers and shot 17-for-53 (32 percent) from the field.
Pfeiffer closed the game on a 27–13 run, securing its 10th conference victory of the season with one of its strongest defensive efforts of the year.
The Falcons will host William Peace in their final regular season home game on Tuesday, Feb. 17 in Merner Gym as part of a doubleheader with the Pfeiffer men's team.
