MISENHEIMER, N.C. (February 17, 2026) — The Pfeiffer University Falcons protected home court on Tuesday night with a strong 78–62 win over William Peace University in USA South conference play at Merner Gym. The Falcons improved to 15–8 overall and 11–2 in league action, while the Pacers dropped to 9–15 (3–10 USA South).
With the win, Pfeiffer clinches no less than a tie for the USA South Regular Season title and will be the top seed in next week's USA South Tournament.
Pfeiffer established control early, taking a 41–35 halftime lead behind efficient perimeter shooting and timely defensive stops. The Falcons held that momentum throughout the second half, outscoring the Pacers 37–27 over the final 20 minutes to secure their eighth home win of the season.
Falcons' Balanced Attack Leads the Way
Senior guard
Clayton Robinson paced Pfeiffer with 16 points, including 3 three-pointers, while also contributing five rebounds and a steal. Teammate
Justin Gaten added 15 points, knocking down two shots from beyond the arc and supplying three assists and two steals. Guard
Sean Sucarichi delivered 12 points and repeatedly capitalized at the free-throw line.
Forward
Doug Smith posted a key double-double, finishing with 10 points and 12 rebounds while adding two blocks and two steals, anchoring Pfeiffer's interior presence on both ends. The Falcons also received a major lift from their bench, which contributed 21 points in the win.
Pfeiffer's defense proved decisive, forcing 12 William Peace turnovers and converting them into 13 points, nearly doubling the Pacers' output in that category.
William Peace Effort
William Peace stayed competitive behind Parker Hodgson's 15 points, including a pair of strong drives and perimeter makes, while Tyler Whitehurst added 14 points, hitting four three-pointers. Guard Shawn Jones added 13 points and six rebounds, but fouled out late in the contest. Forward Chuks Ezeonu pulled down 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass, helping the Pacers to match Pfeiffer on the boards (35–35).
Despite hitting nine three-pointers, the Pacers struggled to sustain offensive rhythm in the second half and were limited by turnovers and Pfeiffer's ability to score in transition.
