VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 18, 2026) — Pfeiffer University claimed a share of the team title at the VWU Marlins Invitational on Tuesday, finishing tied with N.C. Wesleyan atop the leaderboard at Cypress Point Country Club. The Falcons were declared event champions based on a scorecard playoff.
Both teams posted a two-round total of 613, closing the event at 37-over par. Host Virginia Wesleyan finished one shot back in third at 614.
Pfeiffer was led by medalist
Aidan Hollar, who won his first career individual title with rounds of 74 and 75 for a 5-over 149. Hollar edged a three-player tie for second by one stroke.
Pfeiffer placed four golfers inside the top 25, with
Lapo D'Amato tying for seventh at 153 and
Tyler Kepley and
Tatum North, finishing a tie for 13th with a 156 (+12).
Wyatt Reeder, who finished in a tie for 21st was the difference, as he bested N.C. Wesleyan's Brady Preslar by six strokes to give Pfeiffer the team title via the scorecard playoff,
Ryan McQuarrie rounded out the Falcons' effort with a final-round 78 to tie for 40th.
N.C. Wesleyan's Juan Amil and Virginia Wesleyan's Brady King and Grady Logan tied for second at 6-over 150.
The Falcons will turn their focus to playing in the Glenn Heath Memorial hosted by The Apprentice School on March 30-31 at the Williamsburg Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va.
