EARLYSVILLE, Va. — Pfeiffer University placed eighth in a competitive 16-team field Saturday at the NCAA D3 South Regional Preview at Panorama Farm, using a balanced team effort to finish with 192 points in the women's 6-kilometer race.

The Falcons posted a team average of 26:06 and finished ahead of regional rivals including Fairmont State, Mary Washington, and Meredith. Saint Francis captured the team title with 79 points, followed by Southern Virginia and Lynchburg.

Senior Makayla Borst paced Pfeiffer with a 26th-place finish in 25:14.2, leading the Falcons across the line in a field packed with regional talent.

Freshman Izabella Delli Colli followed closely in 28th place with a time of 25:17.1, while freshman Emily Yates gave Pfeiffer three runners inside the top 31 after crossing the finish line in 25:29.6.

The Falcons' scoring lineup was completed by freshman Madalynn Gulledge, who finished 48th in 26:36.4, and junior Ryan Germain, who placed 59th in 27:51.7.

Pfeiffer also received strong depth performances from senior Hayley Borst, who finished 67th in 28:39.6, and freshman Lis Santiago, who placed 79th in 30:22.9.

The Falcons' top five runners were separated by just 2:37.5, highlighting the team's ability to run as a pack throughout the challenging Panorama Farm course.

Individually, Ester Zar of Batten University claimed the race victory in 21:58.8, becoming the only runner in the field to break 22 minutes.
