Pfeiffer Gets 4-2 USA South Baseball Win at Greensboro College
Greensboro, N.C. (March 10, 2019) – The Pfeiffer University baseball team limited Greensboro to two runs on five hits and got two RBI from catcher Chaston Gordon in a 4-2 USA South win at Greensboro College on Sunday afternoon.

The Falcons scored one run in the first and third innings and two in the fifth and held the host Greensboro Pride to just five hits on the day in the 4-2 win.
In the first, Pfeiffer's Mason Striplin reached after being hit by the pitch and advanced to second on a groundout. Catcher Chaston Gordon then doubled, driving in Striplin from third, giving the Falcons the 1-0 lead.
Pfeiffer made it 2-0 in the third inning when Hayden McGraw singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He would reach third on a Striplin single and would later score when Kirby Lambert hit into a double play, scoring McGraw from third.
Pfeiffer went up 4-0 in the fifth after Striplin singled. He would advance to third on a single from Lambert. Lambert then stole second to put two runners in scoring position. After an RBI single from Gordon, Bryce Marsh laced a single up the middle, scoring Lambert to make it 4-0.
Greensboro then scored a run in both the fifth and sixth innings to trim the deficit to 4-2. The Pride would then get runners on second and third in the ninth, but Marsh earned the save by striking out the final Greensboro batter to preserve the 4-2 win.
