FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA- Matt Michaeli recorded two goals and dished out two assists as the Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team (6-4, 2-1 CC) picked up a 13-8 win over Emmanuel (1-11, 0-4 CC) on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons opened the contest scoring the first five goals as they improve to 2-1 in the Conference Carolinas.
It took Pfeiffer under two minutes to put the first points on the board as Michaeli scored an unassisted goal. The Falcons scored their second goal when Michaeli took a pass from Ryan Cummings and found the back of the net. Pfeiffer scored twice in the final minute of the first quarter to take a 4-0 lead.
Cole Sheen scored his first goal of the contest with 3:15 left in the second period giving the Falcons a 5-0 lead. The Lions responded by scoring the final two goals of the first half closing the gap to 5-2. Cummings and Matt Palmer scored back-to-back goals to open up the second half for the Falcons extending the lead to 7-2.
The Falcons went on a 3-0 run mid-way through the third to take a 10-4 advantage en-route to a 13-8 victory.
Austin, Sheen and Cummings added two goals for the Falcons. Pfeiffer outshot Emmanuel 49 to 26, and won 14 of 25 face offs for the contest.
The Falcons return to action Saturday, April 9 as they travel to No.1 Limestone. Face off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
