BREVARD, N.C. - The Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team (1-3) used a five-goal fourth quarter to erase a 7-4 deficit and defeat Brevard (2-3) by a final score of 9-7 on Saturday afternoon. Kyle Barna scored four times in the win and has scored nine goals over his last two contests.

The Falcons offense was held quiet through three quarters, accounting for just four scores. Barna scored twice and Justin Oberg and Jared Nelson accounted for the other two goals. However, Pfeiffer trailed by three heading into the final 15 minutes.

Nelson scored just 14 seconds into the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 7-5. Ryan Cummings and Barna netted back-to-back goals to draw Pfeiffer even at seven with 6:49 to play.

On the man advantage, Myles Dalton-Steinhart struck for the game winner with 5:45 to play and Barna would add another tally to push the lead to 9-7 and give Pfeiffer a 5-0 scoring run.

With 52 seconds left, the Tornados pulled within one goal at 9-8 but were unable to net the equalizer in the final moments.

Mike Moorehead was solid in net again, tallying 13 saves and allowing only eight goals.

Cody Lamond went 13-for-20 on faceoffs and grabbed a game-high 10 ground balls.

Defensively, Dillon Malloy caused four turnovers for the Falcons and added five ground balls. Blade Garlow, Justin Oberg and Alex Skidmore each recorded four ground balls in the victory.

Pfeiffer held a 41-34 advantage in ground balls and went 18-for-19 on clears. Brevard outshot Pfeiffer 30-23 on the day and forced 22 Falcon turnovers.

Pfeiffer will now focus on Conference Carolinas play as Pfeiffer opens league play on Saturday when they travel to Belmont Abbey for a 3:30 contest.
