Five Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Players Earn Postseason USA South Honors
Misenheimer, N.C. – Five members of the Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team have earned All-USA South honors the league has announced.
Leading the list for the Falcons is junior attack Jared Nelson and freshman defenseman Spencer Stokes, who each earned first-team honors. Nelson was selected as the league's Player of the Year while Stokes was tabbed as the conference Rookie of the Year.
Nelson finished the regular season as the league leader in assists (62) and total points (106). He also has posted 44 goals on the season, good for fourth overall in league play. In addition, he was named USA South Player of the Week on four different occasions during the regular season.
Stokes completed the season with 25 caused turnovers, good for fifth overall in the conference and also had 36 ground balls. He also added nine goals and nine assists, finishing with 18 points.
He was also tabbed the league's Defensive Player of the Week once during the season
Senior John Allen also received All-USA South honors, making an appearance on the Second Team. Allen finished as the top goal scorer in league play, finishing with 59 goals on 92 shots on goal.
Josh Reffey also earned second-team honors as the primary faceoff performer for the Falcons as he controlled 222 of 405 faceoffs, good for 54.8%, which led the USA South. For his prowess in the faceoff circle, he controlled 115 ground balls, finishing second in that category amongst leage foes.
Bailey Coltman rounds out the Pfeiffer All-Conference recognition, as he was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.
