Greensboro Races Past Pfeiffer Men's Soccer
Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 17, 2019) – Visiting Greensboro College scored on a header in the third minute en route to a 3-0 USA South win over the Pfeiffer University men's soccer team on Tuesday night at Lefko Field.
The Pride wasted little time when Darli Mihindou took a cross from Jordy Briceno and headed it past Falcon goalkeeper Johvany Herrera (Concord, N.C.) to stake the 1-0 lead.
Greensboro would get another goal at the 8:43 mark, this time Alexander Bishop scored on an assists from Gerardo Peraza, extending the lead to 2-0.
Mihindou scored again at the 16:55 mark on another assist from Briceno to provide the eventual 3-0 final.
Pfeiffer did regroup in the second half, firing nine shots on the Greensboro defense but could not slip one past the Pride second half goalkeeper Elmer Martinez.
Caz Dabrowski (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) uncorked four shots to lead the Falcons while Herrera made a pair of saves in the loss.
The loss drops the Falcons to 1-4 on the season and 0-2 in USA South play while Greensboro improves to 2-0 in league play and 3-3-1 overall.
Pfeiffer will take to the road for their next two USA South matches, traveling to Maryville for a 6:30 kickoff on Friday, Sept. 20 and to Covenant for a 5:00 p.m. match on Saturday, Sept. 21.
