N.C. Wesleyan Downs Pfeiffer Men, 3-0

Rocky Mount, N.C. (Oct. 12, 2019) – North Carolina Wesleyan scored three first half goals and held the Pfeiffer University men's soccer team to just seven shots en route to a 3-0 USA South win over the Falcons at Scalf Field in Rocky Mount, N.C. on Saturday afternoon.

The Bishops went up 1-0 in the 15th minute when Aazah Daniel scored on a pass from Jack Holden.  The lead then went to 2-0 at 34:13 when Dimas Reyes scored an unassisted goal.  The final goal of the game came at the 36:00 mark when Baboucarr Njiee scored on a Matteo Costa pass.

Pfeiffer managed seven shots with Caleb Bratager (Wake Forest, N.C.) and Nico Soriano (Concord, N.C.) leading the way with two each.

Falcon goalkeeper David Chavarria (Franklinville, N.C.) made 12 saves on the afternoon.

The loss drops Pfeiffer to 5-7 overall and 3-5 in conference play while N.C. Wesleyan now stands at 9-2-1 and 7-1 in USA South play.

Pfeiffer will next travel to Methodist on Wednesday, Oct. 16 for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Monarchs.
