Raleigh, NC – Pfeiffer University's men's tennis team (1-3) had no trouble handling William Peace (0-2) for its first win of the 2017 spring campaign on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons were nearly perfect in doubles play, as Axel Woerner and Raul Ruiz defeated Patrick Newsome and Patrick Ralph 8-2, while the stellar efforts of duos Bjorn Barwinski and David Weir, and Trey Speight and Brandon Marchant led to a clean sweep of their respective opponents at 8-0 apiece.

Much of the same can be said for Pfeiffer's singles matches on the day. Woerner beat Patrick Newsome 6-0, 6-1 to get things started at the No. 1 position for the Falcons, who continued the momentum and throttled the Pacers throughout the remaining sets.

Pfeiffer will next head to Catawba on Tuesday, Feb. 14 for a 2 p.m. start.
