Men's Tennis Drops Match to Mount Olive, 6-3

MISENHEIMER, NC – The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team (4-5, 0-1 CC) dropped a 6-3 match to the University of Mount Olive on Tuesday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.

Mount Olive opened the matched with a 2-1 lead after capturing a pair of doubles victories at the No. 2 and 3 positions. Thomas Hubble and Bjorn Barwinski salvaged doubles play at the No. 1, grabbing a point for the Falcons with an 8-5 win over Jose Cortijos and Martim Sousa.

In singles play, the two lone victories came at No. 1 and 6. Alex Woerner handed Ogulcan Deniz a 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 loss and Raul Ruiz picked up a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 win against Sherzod Akramov.

Pfeiffer will look to bounce back and return to .500 when it travels to Barton tomorrow at 1 p.m.
