Men's Tennis Earns 6-3 Victory Over Erskine

DUE WEST, SC – The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team (5-7, 1-3 CC) snapped a three-match skid and earned its first conference victory of the season with a 6-3 win at Erskine (1-13, 1-5) Friday afternoon.

PFU took a 2-1 lead with a strong performance at the No. 1 and 2 doubles, as the pairings of Bjorn Barwinski/Thomas Hubble (8-5) and Axel Woerner/Raul Ruiz (8-6) were able to pick up wins against their Flying Fleet opponents.

Axel Woerner defeated Ritwik Bhriguvanshi in two sets (6-3, 7-6) from the No. 1 singles position to increase the Pfeiffer advantage to 3-1. The Falcons also grabbed wins from Thomas Hubble (2-6, 6-4, 6-4), David Weir (7-5, 6-1), and Eduan Louw (4-6, 7-5, 10-2) to start the weekend on a winning note.

Pfeiffer heads to Franklin Springs, GA for a match with Emmanuel College this Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m.
