CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Saturday, the Pfeiffer Falcon track and field teams were in competition at the Johnson C. Smith Invitation as the women's squad finished in the top ten with an eighth place 29 points.
In women's field action, Jess Asbury took second place in the javelin with a throw of 37.36 meters and teammate Alison Webb finished in fifth place with a throw of 34.15.
In the women's track events, Sophomore Kylie Spencer, in the 400 meters, finished seventh with a time of 2:22.22. Spencer's time was second best out of any other Conference Carolinas runners. In the 3000 meter steeple chase, Mary Stegall finished third with a time of 13:20.19.
In the men's hammer throw, sophomore Matt Chavers placed in fourth with a throw of 45.88 meters.
The track events for the men's squad saw Brandon Boyd placed in 12th place with a time of 1:59.52 in the 800 meters. Teammate Dakota Freeman placed in 16th place with a time 2:01.30. In the 1500 meters Josh Wilhoit placed ninth with a time of 4:24.69.
The Falcons return to the track on April 23rd at the Phoenix Invitational in Elon, N.C.
