The Pfeiffer University men's and women's track and field teams traveled to the campus of Roanoke College for the Finn Pincus Invitational.

The meet was highlighted by senior Kylie Spencer and junior Curtis Freeman, whom both qualified for the ECAC Indoor Championships in the 1000m run. Spencer's time of 3:15.08 garnered her a 5th place finish, while Freeman's time of 2:43.73 landed him in ninth.

On the men's side, senior Klay Gil threw a personal best in the weight throw with a distance of 11.98m (39-3.75). That effort was more than a meter better than his previous best throw.

Other notable performances on the men's side included senior Sean Bryant turning in a 14th place finish in the 60m semi-finals. His time of 7.09 was his second fastest effort this season. Freshman Nevin Foster continued to improve his 400m time running 52.60.

On the women's side, Spencer added another top ten finish in the 600m run. Her time of 1:49.70 landed her in seventh place. Freshman Aaliyah Thomas set personal records in the weight throw and shot put. Thomas threw 10.07m (33-0.5) in the weight throw, and 9.59m (31-5.75) in the shot put. Tonishea Ford followed up last week's success with another personal record throw of 10.35m (33-11.5) in the weight throw, which was good for 32nd place.

The Falcons will travel to Winston-Salem next Thursday, February 7th for the JDL Team Challenge held at the JDL Fasttrack.
