Black Mountain, NC – Two more school records fell as the Falcons competed at the two-day Montreat Invitational.
Jonathan Brindle and Tiffany Bartholomew captured the new school records for the Falcons. Brindle broke his school record in the javelin throw. His throw of 45.15m (148-1) also moved him into the top position in the USA South Conference rankings.
Bartholomew had a stellar day in multiple events. In the high jump, Tiffany jumped a new career best 1.44m (4-8.75). The mark established a new school record in the event. Bartholomew also turned in career bests in the 100m dash (13.08) and the 200m dash (27.88).
On the women's side, the Falcons saw top ten finishes in the hammer throw and the 10000m. Tonishea Ford and Aaliyah Thomas finished 7th and 8th respectively. Ford threw a career best of 35.89m (117-9). Thomas also threw a career-best mark with a 34.78m (114-1). In the 10K Kylie Spencer ran to a 6th place finish with a time of 43:14.49.
For the men, Sean Bryant continued to string together top ten finishes. Bryant finished in 8th place with an 11.02 in the 100m dash and finished 9th in the 200m with a career-best time of 22.23. Bryant has placed in the top ten four times this outdoor season.
Tevin Colson and Dontavius Monroe turned in the top ten finishes in the 400m hurdle race. Colson ran 58.18 which placed him 6th while Monroe ran a career-best time of 58.45 which landed him an 8th place finish.
The Falcons will next travel to Elon University this week for the Phoenix Invitational which will be held Saturday, April 6th.
