Pfeiffer Softball To Host Camp
Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 13, 2018) –The Pfeiffer University softball team will host a camp for 14U and high school players on Dec. 1, 2018.
Participants will have the opportunity to work with the Pfeiffer University softball coaching staff and University of Tennessee Co-Head Coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly, and current Pfeiffer players. Participants will get to experience a college-style workout regimen as well as learn from select drills and special game-play situations.
Instruction includes feedback on primary position and statistical analysis of arm speed, bat seep and foot speed using the latest softball-specific technology. For pitchers, instruction will focus on correct spins, velocity, technique and pitch sequences.
Pfeiffer softball won the 2018 ECAC National Championship, finishing with a 37-5 overall record. In USA South play, the Falcons finished with a 37-5 mark. All told, over the past three seasons, Pfeiffer is a combined 122-30 and has been consistently ranked nationally.
Registration for the 2018 Pfeiffer University softball camp is $140.
In addition, a coaches clinci will be held from 8:30 a.m. to Noon, hosted by Pfeiffer Head Coach Monte Sherrill and Tennessee Co-Head Coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly. The cost of the coaches clinic is $80.
Ralph and Karen Weekly have both been inducted into the NFCA Hall of Fame and are currently in their 17th season at Tennessee. They have made seven Women's College World Series appearances and have been an NCAA finalist twice. They also have had coaching stints at Chattanooga and Pacific Lutheran.
