Vada Blue Sherrill was named Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations in July 2023.
Her duties will include being the liaison for visiting teams, officials, and will also work with vendors of Pfeiffer Athletics. Additionally, she will assist with the Falcon Club, the department's fund-raising arm.
Sherrill will also be the game day manager for a majority of the Pfeiffer sports, and will be responsible for event setup as well as and special events surrounding Pfeiffer athletics.
She will also assist with the social media presence of the department.
Prior to joining the Athletics Administration, Sherrill served as assistant softball coach from 2019-2023 where she oversaw offensive training and defensive strategy. She also served as the director of the Knapp Fitness Center, Pfeiffer's student recreation center.
During her first year of coaching, Sherrill was the inaugural recipient of the Association's Geri Ann Glasco Memorial Scholarship, which was created in partnership with the Natasha Watley Foundation (NWF) and the Glasco Family. This scholarship is awarded to one female assistant coach in the first five years of her career at the collegiate level.
Prior to coaching, Sherrill had an impressive career in the Pfeiffer uniform from 2015-2019. During her career in Misenheimer, Sherrill was a two-time NFCA All-American and a finalist for the Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III National Player of the Year award in 2019.
She completed her Falcon career as the school leader in every major offensive category and became the only person in NCAA history, regardless of division, to reach 200 hits (251), runs scored (255), RBI (200), and stolen bases (201).
Sherrill graduated from Pfeiffer in 2019 with a degree in health and physical education.
The Sherrill Family has deep ties to Pfeiffer, with her father and current Pfeiffer softball coach Monte being a 1987 Pfeiffer graduate while her older sister Bailey is a 2018 graduate and younger sister Darby graduated in 2022.
