Falcons Dominant in 19-1 Women's Lacrosse Win at Salem
Winston-Salem, N.C. (April 6, 2019) – The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team overwhelmed Salem College 19-1 in a road USA South game on Saturday afternoon.

Meagan Bourque scored a team-best six goals and had three assists in a huge 19-1 road win. Sister teammates Startraya Galloway and Starnice Galloway, playing in their hometown of Winston-Salem, notched three and two goals, respectively. Hailey Metzger also had a pair of goals while Gabby Bosak, Morgan Cecil, Kaley Hyatt, Amber Brigges, Meredith Manson and Daji Harper all had goals in the win.
Bosak also managed three assists along with Cecil and Hyatt dishing one on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Pfeiffer wasted little time, scoring less than 30 seconds into the match when Meagan Bourque scored the first of her six goals. Amber Briggs made it 2-0 with a goal at 28:06, then 36 seconds later Metzger made it 3-0. Starnice Galloway made it 4-0 before Salem got their lone tally of the day at the 24:24 mark.
Pfeiffer then scored 10 more goals in the first half, taking the 14-1 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Falcons continued their mastery of the Spirits, scoring five goals while limiting Salem to just two shots in the half, which ended in a running clock.
Senior goalkeeper Sam Hanlon earned the win, improving her record and the Pfeiffer team record to 7-1 on the season and 6-1 in league play. Hanlon made six saves on the afternoon in the win.
Pfeiffer will travel to Averett for their final road match of the regular season on April 9. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in Danville, Va.
