Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Wins Third-Straight With 4-0 Shutout at Meredith

Raleigh, N.C. (Oct. 5, 2019) –
The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team claimed their third straight win and second-consecutive shutout in a 4-0 road USA South win at Meredith College on Saturday afternoon.

Falcon sophomore Cayci Eaton (Harrisburg, N.C.) stayed hot, as she tallied the first goal of the match in the sixth minute to put Pfeiffer up 1-0.  Eaton would add her second unassisted goal of the match in the 17th minute to put Pfeiffer up 2-0.

Just shy of the halftime whistle, Jessica Vazquez (High Point, N.C.) scored her first goal of the season to put Pfeiffer up 3-0.  Vazquez' mark, her second career goal and her first of the season, came courtesy of an Aislynn Odsather (Fairbanks, Alaska) pass, which was her first career assist.

Gabby Bosak (Mt Pleasant, S.C.) scored her first goal of the season in the 54th minute to cap the Falcon scoring at 4-0.  Bosak's unassisted goal was her fifth career score.

Senior goalkeeper Kaley Hyatt (St. Cloud, Fla.) earned the win and improves her season record to 6-2.  Hyatt made two saves on the afternoon.  Freshman goalkeeper Alyssa Keatts (Snow Hill, N.C.) spelled Hyatt in the second half, recording a save while combining for the shutout.

Pfeiffer improves to 7-3 on the season and 3-0 in conference play and now stands in first place in the USA South, two points ahead of Greensboro College.

The Falcons with return to play at Lefko Field on Wednesday, Oct. 9 with a 6:00 p.m. home kickoff against Salem College.
