Pfeiffer's Meredith Manson and Kaley Hyatt Earn USA South Weekly Women's Soccer Awards

Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 28, 2019) – Pfeiffer University junior defender Meredith Manson and senior goalkeeper Kaley Hyatt both earned weekly USA South Women's Soccer Awards the league has announced.

Manson, from Auburndale, Fla., earned the USA South Player of the Week awards after she scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over USA South foe Greensboro, which clinched the first team championship in any sport for Pfeiffer since joining the Conference. The Falcons captured the Eastern Division title thanks to Manson tallying the game's lone goal in the 22nd minute as she came up from the back for a corner kick.

To date, Manson has five goals on the season and one assist.

Hyatt, from St. Cloud, Fla., earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week award after stopping all four shots she faced to earn a shutout in Pfeiffer's, 1-0, win over USA South foe Greensboro. The Falcons captured the Eastern Division title thanks to Hyatt tallying her fourth shutout of the season.  Hyatt boasts a .836 save percentage on the season, which ranks third among USA South goalkeepers.  She also ranks third with a 0.77 goals against average and has allowed a league-low in goals allowed in conference play with nine.
