MECKLENBURG, N.C. – On Sunday, the Pfeiffer Falcons swim team completed the three day Queen's Fall Frenzy as they swam against teams from both Division I and II. In each event in this three day competition, heats would determine the final place order.
The Falcons got their first points of day as Tiffany Bartholomew took part of the 100 yard freestyle final when in heat C she finished sixth and 22nd overall with a time of 57.12, more than 8/10th faster than her prelim time.
In the very next event, Eva Miller competed in the 200 yard breast stroke finals when in heat C, the senior finished 7th and 24th overall with a time 3:02.82.
Allison Lindsey and Mireia van Riet came in 15th and 16th overall in the 200 yard butterfly as they finished virtually side-by-side. Officially, Lindsey's finished with a time of 2:14.23 and then van Riet had a time of 2:14.42.
Next up was the 400 yard freestyle relay and the aforementioned ladies teamed up to pick up 32 team points and a time of 3:51.45. Their teammates; Kaleigh Hunt, Kat Kelley, Lauren Walker and Haley Zoltoksi also competed in the same event and picked up 26 more team points as they finished with a time of 4:59.97.
The second day started off with the 200 yard medley relay as Bartholomew, van Riet, Miller, Lindsey picked up 34 team points with a 14th place finish and a time of 1:56.02.
In the first event final, 200 yard freestyle relay, the team of Bartholomew, van Riet, Miller, Lindsey picked up 32 team points when they finished 14 out of 18 with a time of 1:46.40. The foursome also competed, in the 400 meter relay later in the day as they picked up 30 points with a time of 4:15.07 and a 15th place finish.
Lindsey finished in 24th place in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:27.97.
In heat C, of the finals for the 50 yard freestyle, Bartholomew finished in second place, but overall the sophomore came in 18th with a time of 25.49.
Days end sees the Falcons end the day with 70 points while placing 7th out of 8 teams.
The Falcons swim team was consistent all weekend long and held strong in the team rankings. Pfeiffer at the end of Sunday finished in 8th place with 240 team points, 32.5 points behind King University.
Pfeiffer will return to the pool on January 13th as they will compete in a double duel meet against Converse and UNC Pembroke.
