Women's Swimming Goes a Perfect 3-0 at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Pfeiffer swimming team had a dominant night as they earned a clean sweep of Sweet Briar, Greensboro and Guilford on Friday evening. Pfeiffer had seven individual winners on the evening and won the 200-yard medley relay as well.

The Falcons showed no rust despite not competing for nearly two months, defeating Sweet Briar 110-75, topping Guilford 114-47 and finishing the sweep with a 104-49 win over host Greensboro. 

In the first event of the night, the relay team of Mireia van Riet, Alevtyna Kalashnik, Allison Lindsey and Tiffany Bartholomew took home the win in the 200-yard medley relay in convincing fashion. The Falcons time of 1:55.30 won the event by 23 seconds over the runners-up from Sweet Briar. 

Following the relay win, Eva Miller notched the team's second win in the 1000 yard freestyle, touching with a time of 13:22.88. Lindsey followed up with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 2:04.97. 

In the 50 yard freestyle, Kalashnik's time of 27.41 gave her a first-place finish, while teammate Haley Zoltoski placed third. Van Riet grabbed the top spot in the 100-yard individual medley as well as the 100-yard butterfly. 

Later in the evening, Lindsey posted the best time in the 500 yard freestyle, recording a time of 5:40.27 and winning the event by 29 seconds. The final first-place finish on the night belonged to Bartholomew who won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.92. 

The Falcons are right back at it tomorrow when they travel to Columbia, SC to compete against Columbia College. The meet begins at 2 p.m.
