Falcons Defeat UNC Pembroke on Senior Day

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – It was a successful senior day for the Pfeiffer swim team as they defeated UNC Pembroke 124-90 inside Merner Pool. Prior to the meet, the Falcons honored the contributions of Mireia van Riet, Eva Miller, Alevtyna Kalashnik, Kat Kelley and Allison Lindsey.

In the first event of the meet, the Falcons 200-yard medley relay team of van Riet, Tiffany Bartholomew, Lindsey and Kalashnik won by a full seven seconds over Pembroke's quartet to gain the early momentum.

After the Braves took events two and three, Bartholomew garnered a first-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke, touching in a time of 33.88. In the 100-yard butterfly, Lindsey touched first, finishing with a time of 1:01.69.

Kalashnik (50-yard free) and Lindsey (100-yard free) won back-to-back events for the Falcons. Bartholomew would add a win in the 100-yard breaststroke and Lindsey grabbed her third individual win in the 50-yard butterfly.

Van Riet would win the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:06.83 before the Falcons closed the meet with a dominating win in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Falcons return to action on Thursday when they travel to Columbus, GA to compete in the Sun Coast Conference Meet.
