Women's Tennis Rolls Past Greensboro With 9-0 Victory

Misenheimer, N.C. -- The Pfeiffer women's tennis team grabbed a 9-0 win over Greensboro on Wednesday at the Knapp Tennis Center. The victory is the second in a row for the Falcons and fifth win overall on the year.

Singles play started out with a close match between Pfeiffer's number one player Anna Branson and the Pride's Anna Rae Porcelli. After losing the first set 2-6, Branson fought back and won the next two sets 6-1 and 10-8. Ally Delaney and Sydney Honeycutt also scored wins by sweeping their opponents. Madison Furr had a tough match but came out on top with a 6-3, 6-7, 10-7 victory. Maddie Hatley and Camilla Ricoveri came through to complete the singles' sweep for the Falcons.

In doubles play it was more of the same, as the Falcons swept Greensboro with an 8-3 win by Juliana Batah and Delaney, an 8-0 win from Branson and Honeycutt, and an 8-6 victory by Hatley and Furr.

Pfeiffer will once again take the court when they face Averett on Friday. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
