Pfeiffer Volleyball Falls to Keiser University in Home Openers, 3-0 and 3-1

Misenheimer, N.C. (Aug. 31, 2018) –
The Pfeiffer University volleyball team hosted visiting Keiser University, falling 3-0 and 3-1 in the first two matches of the season.

In the first match, the Seahawks dropped the Falcons, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-22. In that first match, Pfeiffer's Alonna Clouse (Harrisburg, N.C.) led the way with seven kills while teammates
Bri Weber (Jesup, Iowa) and Lea Hilton (Kannapolis, N.C.) managed three kills each.  Defensively, Weber led the way with eight digs along with Hilton's five block assists. Setter Angelina Fardella (Harrisburg, N.C.) dished out a team-best 15 assists in the first match.

In match two, Keiser took care of Pfeiffer 3-1, winning 25-18, 22-25, 25-20 and 25-13.  Clouse again led the way, knocking down 14 kills and contributing 12 digs for the double-double. Hilton also notched a double-figure effort with 10 kills while Emma Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.) had a team-high 15 digs.  Fardella once again led the Falcons with 28 assists.

The losses drop Pfeiffer to 0-2 on the season while Keiser improves to 3-5.

The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 1, hosting Mid-Atlantic Christian at 1:00 p.m. and Ferrum at 5:00 p.m. in Merner Gym.
