SALISBURY, N.C. - In the opening meet of the season, the Pfeiffer men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Catawba Invitational at Salisbury Community Park on Saturday morning. The men placed seventh, while the women claimed a sixth place finish.
The best finish of the day belonged to standout senior Kylie Spencer who finished in eighth place with a time of 20:13.8. Four spots behind Spencer was junior Cassidy Hooper who ran the 5-k course in 20:24.9. Megan Miller posted a time of 22:47.9, good for third among all Falcons. Dana Johnson and Cailen Fusetti rounded out the top five Pfeiffer finishers.
Freshman Glodi Elofa paced the men's squad, finishing the 8-k course in a time of 30:13.3. Following Elofa were Sully Hudson and Nicholas Barnes. Alex Brown and Mackennon Watson rounded out the top five runners for the men's team.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday, Sept. 23 when they compete in the Monarch Cross Country Invitational in Fayetteville, NC.
