MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team (0-19, 0-12 CC) came out on the wrong end of a 3-1 decision at Mount Olive (7-18, 3-8) on Friday evening. Kelsey Blauser led the Falcons with 11 kills and a .526 hitting percentage in the match and Haley Denny added 11 digs.
Pfeiffer dropped the first set 25-17 and the second set 25-13. However, Pfeiffer would rally in the third set. Andrea Lopez served up an ace to cap an early 6-2 spurt and the Falcons never looked back. Pfeiffer led the entire set and pushed the advantage to five on seven different occasions. Allison Rosas capped off the victory with a kill, giving the Falcons a 25-21 win. Pfeiffer hit .267 as a team in the frame and posted 12 kills.
However, the hosts would come back and secure a 25-18 win in the clinching set.
Dezirae Mackey led all players with 12 kills for the Trojans and recorded a sizzling .667 hitting percentage. Teammate Montgomery Register finished the evening with a .727 hitting percentage and neither play recorded an error.
McKenzie McDonald had seven kills for the Falcons and Andrea Lopez finished with 10 digs. Katie Wilson had a solid all-around match, finishing with 20 assists, six digs and two service aces.
The Falcons conclude their three match road swing with a 2 p.m. contest at Barton tomorrow afternoon.ÂÂ
