WILSON, N.C. - Despite 12 kills from freshman Shenelle Charlot, the Pfeiffer women's volleyball team (0-20, 0-13 CC) dropped a straight set decision at Barton (8-14, 6-6) on Saturday afternoon. The match concludes Pfeiffer's three match road swing. The duo of Melissa Cochran and Kaitlyn Micol combined for 25 kills for the Bulldogs.
Pfeiffer posted a .133 hitting percentage on the afternoon. Junior Kelsey Blauser added six kills and a .455 hitting percentage, while Allison Rosas added four kills and a team-high .667 hitting percentage. Haley Denny finished the match with 13 digs and Anna Tomkins led the way with 13 assists.
Barton won by set scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-20. The Bulldogs recorded a .229 hitting percentage and finished with 37 kills and six total blocks. Cochran ended the match with a .560 hitting percentage for the hosts who ended a four match winless streak.
After Barton took the opening set, Pfeiffer rallied in set two. The Falcons stormed ahead 20-17 late before the Bulldogs rallied. Barton finished the set on an 8-3 run to claim the victory.
Pfeiffer returns home on Wednesday evening as they host Coker in non-conference action at 7 p.m.
