BELMONT, N.C.- The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team fell to conference foe Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon 3-0. The Falcons got a lift from Shenelle Charlot, who recorded a team-high 11 kills and nine digs.

Withthe score tied 9-9 in the first set, Charlot ignited a 3-0 Falcon run with a kill. Pfeiffer extended the lead to 17-13 following a pair of Crusader attack errors. However, it was not enough to hold off a surging Belmont Abbey team, as the Crusaders scored 10 of the last 14 points to take the match 25-22. The Falcons never recovered dropping the next two sets by scores of 25-16 and 25-11.

Hannah Schellenberg provided the offensive spark for the Crusaders recording a match-high 17 kills, with a .268 hitting percentage. Schellenberg added 10 digs to register a double-double for the contest. Gabby Martinez had a match-high 34 assists and added seven digs for Belmont Abbey.

Katie Wilson had one serving ace and added a team-high 12 assists for the Falcons. Kayla Hyatt had nine digs to go along with three kills, for the match.

The Falcons return to action, as they hit the road for a 7:00 p.m. match against Mount Olive on Friday, October 16. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
