MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team fell to Barton on Saturday afternoon 3-0. Laura Ann Fortner has her best performance of the year registering eight kills and a .278 hitting percentage for the Falcons.
Pfeiffer fell in the first two games 25-14 and 25-14. However, the Falcons jumped ahead of the Bulldogs early to start the third set. A Fortner kill sparked a 3-0 run, that was capped off by a block assist by Talor Hewitt and Fortner extending the Pfeiffer lead to 12-9. Barton answered the run by scoring five of the final six points to take the match.
Stephanie Pingyin paced the Bulldogs recording a .455 hitting percentage and adding a match-high 18 kills. Angelica Acevedo had a match-high 19 assists and contributed two digs for Barton.
Katie Wilson had 13 assists for the Falcons and Shenelle Charlot add four kills, five digs and one block assist. Kirsten Hunt had three kills and hit .400 on the afternoon.
Pfeiffer returns to action tomorrow against Mount Olive. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
