MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team (3-1, 1-0 CC) dominated Lees-McRae (0-2, 0-1 CC) in the Conference Carolinas opener on a cold Wednesday afternoon on NE Lefko Field by a final score of 24-5. Eddie Renaud finished the game with four goals and seven assists, while Kyle Pauwels had six goals and four assists. The freshmen duo combined for 21 points on the afternoon.

Renaud's seven assists were just two shy of Kevin Iwanusa's 1997 record for most assists in a game. The seven assist performance ties him for the second most in program history in a single game.

Cole Sheen added five goals and Mike Triolo finished with two goals and three assists in the blowout. Robert Nelson won 16 out of 21 face offs and William Pires won 11-of-12.

Dane Carney recorded a hat trick to pace the visitors.

Triolo got the scoring started for the Falcons before Blaine Stottlar answered for Lees-McRae. A Matt Michaeli goal was the first of 16 consecutive goals for Pfeiffer. Renaud and Pauwels each finished the first quarter with two goals apiece. Sheen notched his first of the game to open the second period, putting the Falcons up 9-1. The first half would end with the Falcons holding a 14-1 advantage.

Michaeli, Renaud and Cole Paciejwski scored the first three of the second half before Carney stopped the run. However, Pfeiffer would respond with seven unanswered goals before Lees-McRae ended the game with three straight.

For the game, Pfeiffer scored three times with the man advantage and won 27-of-33 face offs. Pfeiffer held a 47-22 ground ball advantage and held Lees-McRae to just 1-for-8 in man up opportunities.

Joe Capstaff earned the win in net, making three saves in the opening half. Michael Moorehead played 20:16 in goal before giving way to Jacob Michel for the final 9:44.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday as they host Coker at 2 p.m.
