MISENHEIMER, NC- The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team opened up their first match of the tri-match against conference rival Belmont Abbey, the Falcons fell in a one sided match 3-0. In the second match Pfeiffer lost in straight sets to Chowan.
In the first match the Crusader recorded a .426 hitting percentage, and were led by Dani Fortunato who hit a blistering .667 while recording a match-high 9 kills for BAC. Casidy Bonito registered a match-high 15 assists. The Crusaders had five total blocks compared to only one for the Falcons.
Senior Brittany Blackburn posted a team-high eight digs, and recorded one assist for Pfeiffer.
The Hawks improved to 18-8 in decisive fashion against Pfeiffer in the night cap. Chowan had 39 kills as a team and recorded 11 services aces. Both Alyssa Born and Karisa Patterson each notched 16 assists for the Hawks. Morgan Spencer had a match-high 11 kills, to go along with a .450 hitting percentage and libero Bailey Zavala had a match-high 21 digs.
Sam Smith paced the Falcons with three kills and a .286 hitting percentage, and Talor Hewitt added a team-high seven digs for the Falcons.
Pfeiffer returns to action on Tuesday, November 21, as the Falcons travel to Barton for a 7:00 matchup against Barton.
