MISENHEIMER, N.C.- The Pfeiffer Falcons (18-12) split their Tuesday double header with the King Tornado (9-15) as Rachel Crowder hit her 16th home run of her career to tie the all-time school mark.
King started off game in the top of the first as Aaliyah Sands up the middle to score Kern for the 1-0 lead.
Pfeiffer answered back as Callie Kuykendall singled through the left side and Vada Blue Sherrill advanced on a throwing error by the shortstop but next batter Rachel Crowder took a Lauren Smith pitch over the right field fence.
The inning continued as Kiana Millsaps singled, Chandler Walker walked and Jessica Jackson singled to right and then Anna Lauren Brafford hit an three RBI doubled down the left field line ending the day for King's starter Smith.
Two batters later Jaclyn Boever singled through the left side, bringing in Brafford from second base. Next batter, Kuykendall doubled down the left field line to score Boever. At the end of three innings Pfeiffer had the commanding 8-1 lead.
King answered right back as Hannah Smith hit starter Kennedy Lester's pitch over the left field fence..
The Falcons finished off King in the bottom of the third as Millsaps and Walker singled and then Brafford singled in the lead runner. Bailey Sherrill singled to right field driving in two runs, Brafford and Walker. Boever put the game away as she doubled in Sherrill with a line drive to right field.
Lester pitched her 15th complete game of the year as she improved to 8-7 allowing five hits and two runs in the 12-2 victory.
In game two, the Falcons had no answer for King starter Haley Smothers as she threw a complete game three-hitter for the 2-0 win.
In the bottom of the first, Vada reached safely with a walk that extended her streak to 30 straight games reaching base.
Sherrill (2) and Chandler each added hits for the Falcons and reliever Sam Jarmusch pitched four scoreless innings of relief as she allowed just Tornado hit.
Pfeiffer travels to North Greenville on Saturday in a Conference Carolinas double header with first pitch starting at 1 p.m.
