SWEET BRIAR, VA- On Saturday afternoon, the Pfeiffer Falcons swim team picked up their first victory of the season as they competed in a double dual against the host school Sweet Briar College and UNC Pembroke. The Falcons were able to pick up a win against the Vixens,131-95, but fell to the Braves, 117-112. Mireia van Riet was the top performer on the day as she picked up three wins.
Van Riets victories came in the 200 meter butterfly with a time of 2:38.44, the 200 meter backstroke with a time of 2:40.24 and the 200 meter individual medley as she finished with a time of 2:44.20.
Tiffany Bartholomew picked up 18 points on the day as she helped out her team to secure a victories in the 200 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:22.30 and the 100 meter freestyle with a time of 1:06.65.
Allison Lindsey also picked up wins in back-to-back events. The senior secured the 400 meter freestyle with a time of 4:50.00 and then few minutes after in the 100 meter butterfly.
As a team, picked up 11 points in the 400 meter relay. Bartholomew, Van Riet , Lindsey and Eva Miller picked up the win a time of 4:59:57.
Pfeiffer returns to the pool on November 17 at the Fall Frenzy in Mecklenburg .
