MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Kyle Barna scored seven times and Blade Garlow added five goals as the Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team (4-5, 2-1 CC) won its third straight game, defeating Lees-McRae (3-5, 1-2) by the final score of 16-11 on Wednesday evening. The win pushes Pfeiffer over .500 in league play.

For the third time this season, goalie Mike Moorehead recorded 20 saves. The junior came into play leading the league in saves and extended his season total to 129 stops.

Jared Nelson handed out five more assists, giving the freshman 24 helpers on the season. 13 of those assists have come in the past two games for the Vestal, NY native.

Ryan Cummings added two goals and three assists and Garlow handed out three assists. Cody Lamond, fresh off breaking the single game record for ground balls, led Pfeiffer with 14 ground balls and won 16 face offs.

Pfeiffer scored on their lone man up opportunity, a Barna strike just 1:53 into the second half, and kept Lees-McRae without a goal on two man up chances.

The Falcons led 5-1 after one quarter and 8-5 at the end of the first half but Lees-McRae would battle back. With 4:20 in the third quarter, the Bobcats scored to cut the lead to 10-9 before Pfeiffer ended the frame with back-to-back goals.

Barna extended the lead to 13-9 with 9:06 to play before LMC answered 25 seconds later. The Falcons sealed the game with two goals in an 11 second span to secure the league victory.

Defensively, Dillon Malloy caused three turnovers. On the offensive end, Barna and Garlow combined to take 28 shots. As a team, Pfeiffer attempted 47 shots and were 21-of-26 on clears.

The Falcons will look to stay hot as they travel to Greensboro looking to push their record to .500 overall and extend their winning streak to four games. Face off is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
